NBIC National Board Inspection Code 2013 (NBIC 2013)covers boiler and pressure vessels and required for ASME stamp holders and repair firms as well as inspections.

The NBIC is an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited standard and provides rules and guidelines for the installation, inspection, repair and alteration of boilers, pressure vessels and pressure relief devices. It is required in many United States and Canadian jurisdictions.

The NBIC has a long history of setting jurisdictional standards in North America from Cities, States and Canadian Providences.  The NBIC 2013 is an International Standard and as expressed a longtime North American National Standard.

The NBIC 2013 is also known as the National Board Inspection Code  or the NBIC.  The NBIC 2013 edition replaces the NBIC 2011 edition.  Also, in 2011, the National Board of Boilers and Pressure Vessel Inspectors ceased the printing of  addendums. This is a great improvement from earlier NBIC editions, but in the pre-1990 the NBIC was one-book consisting of boiler and pressure vessel installations, then inspection of boilers and pressure vessels as well as the repair and alterations of boilers and pressure vessel.  The NBIC has come a long ways!

Today, the National Board Inspection Code 2013 edition continues to provide the same vital information to users of boilers and pressure vessels as in past year NBIC editions.  As always, the new NBIC consist of the three parts: installation, inspection, and repairs and alterations. Each NBIC is bound. The National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) Parts:

Part 1 Installations of Boilers & Pressure Vessels
Part 2 Inspections of Boilers & Pressure Vessels
Part 3 Repairs and Alternations of Boilers & Pressure Vessels

The NBIC also known as the National Board of Boilers & Pressure Vessel Code is the premier post construction code book for boilers and pressure vessels worldwide and is constantly improving.

Important Note: All National Board Stamp Holders are required to have the complete National Board Inspection Code (NBIC 2013) set.
