The UERJ Nursing Journal is a regular publication every 3 months, created in 1993; and its aim is to publish original writings on the biomedical research by Brazilian, Latin American authors as well as by those from other countries, who contribute to the development of the Health and Nursing Sciences. Their articles approach themes such as the effectiveness of diagnosis or therapeutic techniques and health care, epidemiologic, behavioristic and educational aspects related to health and illness. As a second concern, it publishes theoretical studies, critical reviews of literature, and discussion of relevant themes to the health and nursing areas. It is characterized as a national journal of international readership, encompassing primarily the Latin American and Caribbean countries, its readership reaching also the USA, Canada, France, Sweden, Portugal and Spain.
Its abbreviated title is Rev. enferm. UERJ, and it should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographic strips.
